About

Dubbed ‘Britain’s next great voice’ by one leading music magazine, Essex born Joe Worricker is a truly unique talent. Recalling some of the 20th century’s most enigmatic vocalists, from Jackie Wilson to Arthur Russell, his sharp pop edge and magical lyricism place this 22 year old firmly in the here and now.

After penning his first song at the tender age of 7, Joe spent his teens honing his vocal and songwriting skills until a chance encounter in a Soho jazz bar led to Joe releasing a brace of singles – ‘Joe Worricker EP’ and ‘Finger-Waggers’ – on legendary indie-label Rough Trade. Winning fans at radio including Huw Stephens, Nick Grimshaw and Jo Whiley these releases were the perfect introduction to Joe’s ever evolving musical universe.

A charismatic live performer, over the last 18 months Joe has been hand picked to support the likes of Emilana Torrini, Boy George and Marc Almond, performed at countless festivals, and headlined his own sold-out London shows. Whether performing with a full band or simply accompanied by piano or acoustic guitar, a Joe Worricker live show is never less than captivating.

Currently writing and recording material for his debut album, Joe continues to play occasional shows in his native Soho and beyond: keep an eye on www.joeworricker.com or follow Joe on Twitter @JoeWorricker
