I liked the snippets into her plotting to Battle for Love set up Scott and DJ, but what she was planning on otherwise, I just didn't feel like it was necessary for the story. (view spoiler)[ I absolutely hated that Scott's mother, Viv, was planning her suicide through out everything.DJ turned 21 Battle for Love that night and went looking to lose her virginity. DJ had a mental block toward Scott that annoyed me all the way through the story.There are only two reasons why I didn't give this book 4 stars instead Battle for Love of 3. This is probably more like a 3.Finally, she has to overcome her own prejudices and conclusion Battle for Love jumping to find her HEA (happily ever after) with Scott. In fact, with the exception of a wild night eight years earlier, DJ has always kept herself guarded against expecting emotional attachments since she grew up without that kind of love and support.
The town is small, is a farming community whose whole year revolves around the Battle for Love wheat crop cycle, and everyone knows everyone else's business. Got a tear in my eye over that moment.The dateable population is really limited, and gets more complicated considering that you've pretty much grown up with the fifteen guys you might consider Battle for Love dating. He is portrayed as a dog who knows just what his human companion might need from him and takes it upon himself to help.She has Battle for Love hired DJ because she believes her dead husband told her in a dream to find Scott's soul mate and bring her to Verdant. And, for me, the idea of denominating chapters with the nomenclature of Dewey sistem is wonderful! I have also no complaint about the ending.She Battle for Love moves their with her little dog, Dew aka Melvil Dewey, Jr, after the man who created the Dewey Decimal system of organizing books. a sign of trust and reliance in the readers.
My favorite part was when the autistic man, James, came out in front of the whole town to stand up Battle for Love against his bully of a co-worker. As long as I was reading the book, I was entertained enough, mostly, to keep going.The time in South Padre was a night that Scott went Battle for Love looking to improve his sexual knowledge as he was failing his girlfriend in that area. She's stock piling expired cans of food and was seen to be purchasing tampons even though she is well past needing them for their intended cause.He also had a Battle for Love once time fling with DJ over spring break, but he doesn't realize it was truly her until the book is about 98% done. She also devises a plan to improve the dark interior of the library.And sure, batting a thousand is good Battle for Love. I mean, Scott just figured she didn't like him at first, and then she eventually warmed up and got friendly.
